Pikeville Medical Center (PMC) hosted a job fair at the new South Williamson location at the South Side Mall. Representatives from various PMC departments were at the Primary Care and Specialty Clinic from 6am to 8pm on Monday, October 28 to conduct on-site interviews for many open positions at the hospital.
As PMC continues to add specialties and expand health care services into surrounding communities, the need for new employees also grows.
“At job fairs, we hope to talk to as many people as possible who are interested in working at PMC,” said Ashley Johnson, Recruitment Manager.
“The goal is to help them with a great job with excellent benefits, while they help us fill open positions to better take care of our patients and visitors.”
The hospital has both clinical and non-clinical positions open. Available clinical positions include RN, LPN, medical technician (MT, MLT) and certified nurse aid.
There are non-clinical positions open in food services, environmental services, information systems, clerical and Starbucks barista.
Even applicants who don’t have a high school diploma are still eligible.
PMC has a new program, partnering with EKCEP and Skills U, to help individuals gain employment while working to get a GED.
In total, more than 75 people were interviewed for jobs at PMC today at the South Williamson job fair. PMC understands its responsibility as an economic driver in eastern KY and is committed to job growth in the region.
