Pikeville Medical Center’s (PMC) Emergency Room (ER) provides medical and surgical care to patients arriving at the medical center in need of immediate attention. The department offers around-the-clock quality healthcare in emergencies and disasters.
PMC’s ER has extended the number of services offered to the region to serve patients’ needs better. At this time, PMC’s Emergency Department now sees an average of approximately fifty thousand patients annually.
The prestigious group of emergency staff is consists of 10 ER physicians, three physician assistants, four nurse practitioners, 51 nurses, 23 ER techs, one paramedic, nine unit secretaries and a host of clinical scribes who are all specially trained.
The ER features 34 treatment beds, two trauma bays, three triage bays, physiological monitoring in every room and on-site digital x-rays and CT Scans, and a 320 slice scanner.
PMC’s advanced technology allows patients to receive quicker response times, much faster access to CT scans, and rapid turnaround time on lab work.
