Runners and walkers are lacing up their shoes for the ninth Colors of Courage 5K Run/Walk to raise money to support cancer patients of the Lawson Cancer Center at Pikeville Medical Center. The Colors of Courage 5K is one of the most popular running/walking events in downtown Pikeville and will be held on the morning of Saturday, September 7th.

Most people have been affected by cancer in some way, either directly or indirectly. To show support for those fighting cancer or to remember those lost, 5K participants are encouraged to wear the color representing the type of cancer that has impacted them. Although the color for each person may be different, the purpose of the Colors of Courage 5K is to unite everyone in the fight against cancer.

Those wishing to participate are encouraged to register online before the event, but in-person registration will be available the morning of the race. Early registration is $30 and day-of registration is $35. All participants will receive a t-shirt and a custom finisher medal and winners in each age group and gender group will be presented with trophies.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to be part of something extraordinary. Whether a seasoned runner or a first-time participant, everyone is encouraged to come together and spread hope for the patients of the region battling cancer.

Sponsorships are still available. For more information, visit pikevillehospital.org/colorsofcourage, or scan the QR code below.
