PIKEVILLE MEDICAL CENTER RALLYING TO SUPPORT EASTERN KENTUCKY FLOOD VICTIMS

Eastern Kentucky is once again grappling with an overwhelming crisis as catastrophic flooding has ravaged the region. Thousands of families have been displaced, homes have been destroyed and critical infrastructure, including roads and bridges, has been washed out, leaving many isolated and in dire need of help. The road to recovery will be long and rigorous, but the strength and determination of our people continue to shine brightly.

In this time of unprecedented adversity, the Appalachian spirit of compassion and community remains unwavering. Acts of kindness and generosity have poured in from all corners of the region, reflecting the strong bonds that unite the people of Eastern Kentucky. In response, Pikeville Medical Center (PMC) is working with local organizations to host a telethon soon aimed at raising crucial funds for the victims of the flood. Until the telethon takes place, the public is encouraged to contribute by donating BELOW or by submitting donations via a printable form available for mail-in contributions.

“The devastation has been immense, but our resolve to support our neighbors is stronger than ever,” said Donovan Blackburn, President and CEO of PMC. “As a healthcare provider, we see firsthand the toll this disaster has taken on our community. We are more than just a hospital; we are a family united in service and compassion. I am deeply grateful for the outpouring of support from our employees, local businesses and everyone who has stepped forward to assist.”

The scope of need is vast, and while immediate relief is essential, the journey toward long-term recovery will require the collective effort of the entire community. PMC is urging individuals and organizations to join in this vital mission. Contributions of any size, volunteer efforts and continued prayers will be pivotal in helping Eastern Kentucky rebuild and recover.
