Pikeville Medical Center (PMC) is excited to announce the development of a new dermatology service line and the addition of Brooke Hensley, DO, FAAD. Dr. Hensley is seeing patients in the PMC Plastic Surgery and Dermatology Center across the street from the main hospital in the river fill.
Dermatology is a branch of medicine concerned with the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases of the skin, hair, nails, oral cavity, and genitals. Dermatology services also include cosmetic skin care and enhancement, including chemical peels and laser treatments. Conditions such as acne and psoriasis can be treated by a dermatologist as well as more serious conditions such as skin cancer.
Dr. Hensley graduated from the Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine (KYCOM) and completed her residency at Wright State University before returning to Pikeville to practice. Dr. Hensley provides a wide range of Dermatologic services and is excited to care for patients at PMC.
“I’m so proud to be able to serve the wonderful people of our region,” said Dr. Hensley. “Just knowing that I’m able to make a difference in the lives of my patients means the world to me.”
She offers general dermatology services, acne treatment, psoriasis treatment, Botox and filler, as well as skin cancer biopsies and excisions. Dr. Hensley is passionate about encouraging patients to watch for signs of skin cancer, especially Melanoma, which is the most serious form of skin cancer.
Dr. Hensley is accepting new patients of all ages. To learn more about the PMC Dermatology department or to schedule an appointment, call (606) 430-2210.
