OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST (OT)

Treats patients who have physical, sensory or cognitive issues. An OT evaluates patients and develops treatment plans through therapeutic use of everyday activities.

Requirements: Completion of an accredited under-graduate program and a doctorate or Master’s degree

 

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT (OTA)

Executes an OT’s treatment plan through occupational therapy.

Requirements: Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree

 

Ots and OTAs may work in:

  • HOSPITALS
  • ELEMENTARY/SECONDARY SCHOOLS
  • REHABILITATION CENTERS
  • ASSISTED LIVING FACILITIES
  • HOME HEALTH
  • PRIVATE PRACTICE OFFICE
