Pikeville Medical Center (PMC) Healthcare Hero, Jeff Reed works on the frontlines in the Critical Care Unit (CCU).
Since the beginning of the pandemic, PMC Healthcare Heroes have worked diligently to save lives and care for COVID-19 positive patients.
“Our exceptional team of physicians, nurses, therapists, and staff are working hard to provide quality care for these patients,” said PMC Director of CCU, Josh Damron. “The compassion and dedication shown to patients during this time has been overwhelming.”
Reed has worked at PMC and in the CCU for three years.
“I feel that working in the CCU with these patients is what I am meant to do,” said Reed.
He says these patients are very sick and need special care and attention.
“Our team is focused on making improvements for the staff and patients,” added Reed. “We learn each day what is working well for everyone involved while continuing to provide care as smoothly and safely as possible.”
Reed encourages the public to continue to social distance, wear a mask, and follow all recommendations set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
When he is not caring for patients, he and his wife Angela enjoy spending time together with their children, Taylor Reed, Connor Reed, Haley Adkins , Ian Adkins, and Steven Reed.
