Dandy Thacker, Pikeville Medical Center’s (PMC) Environmental Services (EVS) Tech is a Healthcare Hero. For 12 years, Thacker has been a tremendous asset to PMC. She takes pride in focusing on maintaining the overall cleanliness and sanitation of the hospital.
PMC’s EVS Department serves on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic and plays an extremely important role in impacting the safety of patients, visitors, and staff.
She is currently assigned to the emergency department and concentrates on standards and protocols to provide quality care to patients at PMC.
“The EVS Department consists of behind-the-scenes heroes. Thacker and her team help protect our physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, patients, and employees by helping stop the spread of infectious disease,” said PMC Emergency Department Director, Dale Morton, RN. “Without her department’s expert application, clinical staff would be unable to continue to care for patients in a health care setting.”
“I enjoy working for PMC and truly love helping people,” said Thacker.
My advice to everyone is to follow all recommendations made by the CDC and get tested for COVID-19 if you have any symptoms.
Thacker is married to her husband, Curtis Thacker and together they have two children, Kristin and Eric. She enjoys spending time with her family and being outdoors.
