The Appalachian Center for Advanced Eye Care at Pikeville Medical Center (PMC) provides comprehensive eye care for adults and children by licensed optometrists and board-certified ophthalmologists. Our staff offers eye care ranging from routine eye exams to the diagnosis, care and surgical treatment of eye disorders such as glaucoma and cataracts.

The Optometry Clinic provides primary eye care which encompasses the diagnosis and treatment of eye conditions. The optometrists conduct vision exams, school eye exams, diabetic eye exams, foreign body removal, stye treatment, glaucoma evaluation, cataract evaluation and laser treatment.

Primary eye care exams include testing for visual acuity which evaluates how clearly each eye sees, evaluations of depth perception, color vision, eye muscle movements, peripheral or side vision and the way pupils respond to light. Additional testing may be needed based on the results of these tests.

The Appalachian Center for Advanced Eye Care Optometry Clinic does not sell glasses. Patients will receive a prescription for glasses which can be filled at any optical store.
