Cafeteria and Nutritional Services

Introduction

Food and Nutrition Services scope of care includes a variety of services: patient food service, guest & chaplain trays, cafeteria and grill service, special functions, doctor's lounge, Meals-On-Wheels, vending and clinical services.

Cafeteria

Located on the first floor of the Elliott Building, our cafeteria offers a variety of hot entrees, sandwiches, healthy choice items, homemade desserts and a salad bar.

• Breakfast: 6:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
• Lunch: 11:15 a.m .- 2:00 p.m.
• Dinner: 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

Hobe’s Grill

Located on the first floor of the May Tower, Hobe’s offers a variety of breakfast items, sandwiches, desserts, snacks and fast foods, available to employees and visitors. Hobe’s Grill is open 24 hours, seven days a week.

Patient Meals

Nutritional Services at Pikeville Medical Center offers a quality menu for patients with a wide variety of appetizing foods and snacks. Our meals are carefully planned to accommodate varying personal tastes and dietary restrictions.

Prior to each lunch and dinner service, Nutritional Services Staff will provide patients with the current day’s menu for their selection preferences.

Decorative cakes for birthday’s, anniversaries, or other special occasions are available upon request.

Guest trays are available under special circumstances for one family member who wishes to dine with the patient in the room. Such arrangements must be approved by the house supervisor. A fee is charged and can be paid at the register in the cafeteria.

Nutritional Counseling

Registered Dietitians perform nutritional screenings on all patients admitted to the hospital and determine nutritional risk. They also may provide diet counseling and special diet instructions for the patient’s recovery at home.
